my place and yours :: bedside

I seem to only be posting when there's a meme on don't I? It's just that there are so many good ones and I'm like a kid when it comes to these things: I don't wanna miss out on the fun! Also the theme queen for this week's my place and yours is one of my favouritest bloggers, pottymouthmama.

So the theme is bedside this week and so I bring to you a picture of my bedside as it was yesterday (there might be a few more hair elastics and perhaps a snotty tissue or two there now).

bedside

A few pictures, a clock radio, lots of dust and a stack of books. I waver between feeling comforted by the pile of books (including the ones on the floor), and all the promise they hold, to feeling more stressed out then when I was at Uni, wondering when the hell I will ever get to read them all and how much money did I spend on this stack anyway?!

So c'mon. I showed you mine now you show me yours. Just duck on over to Pip's place

  3. Thanks for your lovely comments on my bedside Mel. I notice the artists way you have there. How are you going with it? Has it been useful?

I love the photos by your bed. I think I might have to add some photos somewhere too. I don't know where cos there is no space but a bit of rearranging may assist.

  6. Mel I love your stack of books and I totally relate to how you feel about them. I have two of yours on my wish list and own one - great minds! Hopefully I'll get my 'beside the bed' up soon.

  7. Mel it's one of the ones I dearly want to devote time to but I have only ever got to week three ... twice! (it's a 12 week program). It just requires a fair bit of a time commitment which I guess I just have as yet to prioritise. I leave it there as a hope that I will one day soon!

  13. Ooh look at all your lovely photos, that smile would have to make you grin in the morning. We are a booky bunch aren't we ? I too miss the days of being able to bury myself in a book, but where there's a will, there's a way.

  14. Funny you speak of bedsides when I plan on purchasing two bedside tables tomorrow! Right now there are NO tables next to our bed since we just had carpet installed yesterday... and the one crappy shelf we WERE using is going to be trashed, because its UGLY... is about 8 yrs old and was $10 from Garden Ridge or some random store like that. Its not even a bedside table, just a short, cheap looking, white, shelving unit that fit next to our bed. Hmmm... I seem a little bitter about our lack of proper bedside tables. Sorry for this novel! haha
Oh, my new ones are coming from World Market, yay!

  17. You have an inspiring pile of books. I've still not got very far in Revolutionary Road. I've seen the film, thought it was great (so sad) but am kind of scared of the book... Maybe I need to revisit it.
